THE QUIZ FOR JULY…

Thanks once again to our generous sponsors at The Raj for providing the prize for our monthly quiz.

This month, it's a TV question.

And the Question is…

Which long-running BBC daytime show features two teams competing to find items at antique fairs and sell them at auction, guided by experts in red and blue fleeces?

Answers to arrive no later than midnight on August 31.

Last month's winner was Finn Carter (Occupational Therapist). It was a trick question because bananas are both a fruit and a berry.

Archbishop of Canterbury praises hospital radio

Kettering Hospital Radio received high praise praise  during a historic visit by the new Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Rev Dame Sarah Mullally.

As part of her very first pastoral visit since becoming the first female Archbishop of Canterbury in the Church of England’s 1,400-year history, Dame Sarah spent a Saturday afternoon at Kettering General Hospital. While her tour included meetings with senior NHS staff and the chaplaincy team, a major highlight of her afternoon was a special visit to our very own broadcasting studios.

Dame Sarah took the time to tour the station, meeting with Hospital Radio Chair Steve Bellamy, Trustee and Presenter Wendy Scott, and Trustee and Engineer Clive Fone.
During her time in the studio, the Archbishop was full of praise for the station's setup and its vital role in hospital life. She also stepped up to the microphone to record an exclusive message for our patients and volunteers.

Station Chair Steve Bellamy said: “I had a lovely conversation with Archbishop Sarah, who complimented us on our contribution to the KGH community and our professional studio setup. She was able to record a message for our hundreds of listeners within KGH and those listening at home, which was very much appreciated by the team!”

She concluded her afternoon at the hospital’s Pocket Park, where she laid flowers at the Covid-19 memorial stone and led prayers to remember those lost during the pandemic.
Stay tuned to Kettering Hospital Radio to hear the Archbishop’s special broadcast message!
